New Delhi, Oct 4 (NationPress) In a bid to highlight the extensive opportunities India presents to international investors, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal engaged with multiple global leaders in Singapore over the weekend.
During a highly productive meeting with Jim Coulter, Executive Chairman of Texas Pacific Group (TPG), discussions revolved around enhancing cross-border investments and unveiling new growth prospects for both India and Singapore.
Goyal also conferred with Gautam Banerjee, Chairman of Blackstone Singapore, to explore possibilities for long-term capital in manufacturing-linked infrastructure, aiming to bolster supply chains.
“I met with a delegation headed by Nags Sankaranarayanan, CEO of Nomura Asia Pacific Holdings, to discuss ways to elevate India-centric investments and the numerous opportunities available,” Goyal shared on the X social media platform.
Furthermore, he held a discussion with Loh Chin Hua, CEO of Keppel, focusing on emerging opportunities in India, spanning sectors such as waste-to-energy, infrastructure, data centres, and digital connectivity.
In a meeting with Marcus Wallenberg, Chairman of Saab and Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken (SEB), along with Jean Salata, Chairperson of EQT Asia, and Jimmy Mahanti, Partner and Chairman for South and Southeast Asia at EQT Private Capital Asia, Goyal discussed strategies to enhance economic and strategic cooperation, particularly in advanced technologies, defence, and sustainable infrastructure.
Additionally, in a session with Kim Yin Wong, Group President and CEO of Sembcorp, Goyal outlined India’s significant accomplishments in renewable energy and its ambitious goals, exploring collaborative opportunities in clean energy, green hydrogen, industrial parks, and skill development.
Earlier that day, Goyal stated that India presents vast opportunities across various sectors for Singaporean investors. While addressing the 'India-Singapore@60: Partnership for Growth and Innovation' Business Session, alongside Gan Siow Huang, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Trade and Industry, he underscored the importance of enhancing collaboration and B2B prospects.
He further emphasized the need to strengthen India-Singapore trade and investment relations for a more balanced, inclusive, and future-ready economic partnership.
