PM Modi Commends 2025 Cabinet's Initial Decision, Expresses Pride in Our Farming Community

New Delhi, Jan 1 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday commended the inaugural cabinet decision of 2025 and emphasized that his administration is devoted to enhancing the welfare and prosperity of the agricultural community.
PM Modi’s appreciation came after the Union Cabinet approved the continuation of a one-time package for the procurement of Di-Ammonium Phosphate (DAP).
Taking to his social media platform on X, PM Modi stated, “Our government is wholeheartedly committed to advancing the welfare of farmers. We take immense pride in all our farmer sisters and brothers who diligently work to nourish our nation.”
“The first cabinet decision of 2025 is focused on improving the prosperity of our farmers. I am pleased that critical decisions have been made in this direction,” he remarked.
This morning, the Union Cabinet, led by PM Modi, sanctioned the extension of a special one-time package for DAP procurement beyond the National Bio-Fuel Subsidy (NBS), ensuring sustainable access at affordable prices for farmers.
Under this special package, farmers will continue to receive DAP at ₹1,350/- per bag for 50 kg, with the government absorbing the additional costs.
“This decision will guarantee greater accessibility of DAP to farmers at subsidized, affordable, and reasonable rates,” the government stated in an announcement.
The cabinet approved a one-time special package of ₹3,850 crore for DAP procurement. The added subsidy is designed to counterbalance international price increases, ultimately benefiting farmers.
Many farmers from Haryana expressed their support for the initiative soon after the announcement.
A few of them commented that this measure was extremely advantageous for the farming sector and would protect them from rising costs.
It is noteworthy that global DAP prices remain unstable due to geopolitical fluctuations, and this one-time special package is expected to mitigate that impact.
