New Delhi, Oct 2 (NationPress) Farmers from various regions expressed their enthusiasm on Thursday regarding the Union Cabinet's approval of the Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for Rabi crops for the 2026–27 marketing season. They perceive this action as a means to enhance their earnings and elevate their living conditions.
In Deoria district, Uttar Pradesh, local farmers voiced their approval of the government's decision.
One farmer remarked, “This is excellent -- PM Modi's initiatives are commendable, and we are truly pleased. Be it wheat, mustard, or groundnut, everything is advancing positively, and we are reaping substantial benefits.”
Another farmer emphasized that the Cabinet's decision, led by the Prime Minister, is extremely advantageous for farmers, and all farming communities express their heartfelt gratitude to him.
“The initiative spearheaded by PM Modi is tremendously beneficial for farmers... All farming communities extend their sincere thanks to him,” the farmer expressed.
“The MSP introduced by PM Modi is incredibly advantageous for farmers,” stated another farmer.
Farmers are optimistic that the ongoing increase in MSPs will directly enhance their financial situation.
“The rise in MSP for both Rabi and Kharif crops will significantly uplift the lifestyle and living standards of farmers,” one farmer remarked.
“The hike in MSP for Rabi and Kharif crops will have a direct influence on farmers' economic lives. Their living standards and lifestyles are set to improve,” he added.
Similar sentiments were echoed in Punjab’s Fazilka district, where farmers Jaswinder Singh and Lakhwinder Singh welcomed the announcement.
They viewed the MSP increase as a positive development and a clear indication that the government is committed to farmer welfare.
However, they also noted the rising costs of agriculture due to diesel, pesticides, irrigation, and other inputs, arguing that MSP should be made more transparent and better aligned with actual expenses.
