New Delhi, July 24 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his sorrow on Thursday regarding the tragic loss of lives in a road incident in Mandi district, Himachal Pradesh. Reports indicate that at least five individuals lost their lives and numerous others sustained injuries when a Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus veered off the road and fell down a hill, according to police officials.
In a message shared on the social media platform X, the Prime Minister's Office, quoting PM Modi, stated: "My heart is heavy due to the loss of lives in an incident in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. I extend my condolences to the families mourning their loved ones. I wish a swift recovery for the injured. An ex-gratia payment of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF will be provided to the relatives of each deceased, and Rs. 50,000 will be allocated for the injured victims: PM."
The bus, which was carrying 30 passengers, lost control and fell into a ditch.
The injured were taken to Civil Hospital in Sarkaghat, and three individuals in critical condition were referred to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Bilaspur.
Superintendent of Police Sakshi Verma informed the media that four people—two men and two women—died instantly. The injured were transported to the Civil Hospital in Sarkaghat.
