New Delhi, Oct 31 (NationPress) A spectacular event commemorating Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) is set to take place at Ekta Nagar in Gujarat today, spearheaded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This celebration marks the significant 150th birth anniversary of the revered Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

Over the course of two days, on October 30 and 31, PM Modi will participate in numerous activities emphasizing the theme of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.”

In a media briefing, Minister Vaghani announced that, for the first time, a grand parade inspired by the Republic Day festivities in Delhi will occur at Ekta Nagar.

The parade will showcase 16 contingents, including members from BSF, CISF, ITBP, CRPF, SSB, NCC, and police forces from diverse states such as Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Assam, Odisha, Kerala, and Maharashtra.

Additionally, the event will feature 10 thematic tableaux that highlight the achievements and cultural diversity of various Indian states under the unifying theme of “Unity.”

PM Modi will also inaugurate and lay the groundwork for development projects totaling Rs 1,219 crore, which includes the Rs 367 crore Museum of Royal Kingdoms of India and the Rs 303 crore Birsa Munda Bhavan, dedicated to the esteemed tribal leader.

Of these projects, over Rs 700 crore will be initiated, while projects amounting to Rs 519 crore will be inaugurated.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister will unveil a commemorative coin and a postal stamp in honor of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 150th birth anniversary. He will also flag off electric buses in Ekta Nagar and engage in several public activities.

On Friday, PM Modi will pay floral tributes at the Statue of Unity, followed by the launch of a Cyclothon curtain-raiser at the Dam View Point. The Cyclothon events will continue until November 16–17, with participants from across India joining the main race organized in cooperation with the Gujarat government’s Sports Department.

In an added highlight, Operation Sindoor medal winners from the BSF and five Shaurya Chakra awardees from the CRPF will partake in the parade in open jeeps. The march will be led by a Heralding Team of around 100 members dressed in vibrant traditional attire, accompanied by various musical bands.

Minister Vaghani also pointed out that this year’s annual National Unity Day observance, organized by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), will feature the participation of approximately 660 trainee IAS officers from the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA).

The Prime Minister will launch their national-level orientation program and deliver an inspiring address to the future civil servants.
