Ahmedabad, Nov 18 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch the 21st instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme on November 19 from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
During this significant national event, the Prime Minister will engage with farmers nationwide and connect with beneficiaries of this flagship income-support initiative.
In conjunction with the national rollout, a state-level event will occur in Gandhinagar, presided over by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. Other attendees include Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, Agriculture Minister Jitu Vaghani, and Minister of State for Agriculture Ramesh Katara.
As part of the ceremony, the Chief Minister will distribute financial assistance and approval letters to PM-KISAN beneficiaries, along with support for various agricultural and horticultural initiatives.
Agriculture Minister Jitu Vaghani revealed that more than 9 crore farmers across India will benefit from over Rs 18,000 crore released under this 21st instalment.
Specifically, over 49.31 lakh farmer families in Gujarat will receive approximately Rs 986 crore directly in their bank accounts.
In addition to the state event, local programs will be conducted at all ICAR institutes, central agricultural universities, state agricultural universities, and Krishi Vigyan Kendras, where the Prime Minister’s address will be live-streamed.
A considerable number of farmers, officials, and representatives are anticipated to participate at these centers.
Since its inception, the PM-KISAN scheme has provided essential income support to over 11 crore farmer families throughout India, disbursing more than Rs 3,91,000 crore via 20 instalments.
Farmers in Gujarat have greatly benefited, receiving over Rs 21,000 crore in previous instalments.
