How is PM Modi Shaping India’s New Normal Against Terrorism?

New Delhi, May 12 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi has delivered a decisive address to the nation, establishing a strong and unwavering position regarding India’s approach to terrorism, national security, and Pakistan’s involvement in terror activities. In a gripping speech, PM Modi outlined robust measures to combat terrorism, asserting that any future acts of terror will be regarded as acts of war.

His remarks not only reinforced India’s determination to eradicate terrorism but also conveyed a clear message to Pakistan, emphasizing that it will no longer be able to evade accountability for the terror it supports. The speech has elicited a wide array of reactions across the political landscape, with leaders commending the Prime Minister's leadership and dedication to protecting the nation.

Reacting to PM Modi's address, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis highlighted three new “norms” articulated by the Prime Minister.

Fadnavis stated: “Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation and introduced three new 'norms'. First, he declared that any future act of terror will be treated as an act of war against India, prompting a strong retaliatory response. Second, he emphasized that India will not accept nuclear blackmail, and any such attempt will be met with a decisive counteraction. Third, and most crucially, he proclaimed that Pakistan will no longer be able to disassociate itself from terrorist activities by blaming non-state actors…”

These statements indicate a more assertive and unyielding approach to terrorism, particularly concerning Pakistan’s role in promoting and facilitating terror activities, he noted.

BJP National Spokesperson Ajay Alok expressed enthusiastic support for the Prime Minister's address, commending his commitment to national security. He stated: “A resolute Prime Minister, whose political will is limitless and who is wholly devoted to the nation, has assured that India will never allow any feeling of insecurity to arise under any circumstances. PM Modi’s commitment is evident: terrorism will not be tolerated, nor permitted to persist. Terrorism will now encounter a severe response, and there will be no leniency towards it…”

He praised the Prime Minister’s firm determination not only to combat terrorism but to eradicate it entirely.

BJP leader Brijmohan Agrawal supported the Prime Minister’s remarks regarding future talks with Pakistan, stressing that any discussions must focus exclusively on terrorism and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Agrawal remarked: “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made it clear that if discussions are to occur, they will center on terrorism and PoK. He has also indicated that Pakistan has conceded and proposed a ceasefire, learning a lesson. Operation Sindoor remains active, and if Pakistan makes any incorrect move, they will face repercussions…”

Shiv Sena's Shaina NC commended PM Modi’s unwavering stance against nuclear blackmail. She stated: “140 crore Indians have complete confidence in Prime Minister Modi, and after his address today, it is abundantly clear that he will not tolerate any blackmail involving nuclear weapons…”
