New Delhi, July 7 (NationPress) BJP leader Amit Malviya commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi's diplomatic efforts and India's elevating global reputation for the BRICS bloc's robust denunciation of the Pahalgam terror incident that led to the loss of 26 lives, demonstrating solidarity with New Delhi in the fight against terrorism.
Malviya, who oversees the BJP's National Information and Technology Department, shared key insights from the Summit on social media, captioning his post 'India shines at BRICS Rio de Janeiro summit.'
The comprehensive 31-page, 126-paragraph BRICS Rio Joint Statement mentions India ten times, underscoring the nation's growing global profile, according to Malviya on X.
“From combating terror to spearheading technological advancement and climate action — India is now a cornerstone of the emerging multipolar global order,” Malviya proclaimed.
He highlighted the Indian delegation’s accomplishments at the Summit, noting that the call for a permanent seat for India in the UN Security Council received strong backing during the event.
Moreover, the group acknowledged India’s pivotal role in digital transformation, a significant factor for inclusion and innovation within the Global South.
Another significant stride for India’s international standing was the endorsement of India’s bid to host COP33 in 2028, reinforcing confidence in PM Modi’s climate leadership, he added.
The Summit also recognized India’s global conservation initiatives, particularly through the 'Big Cat Alliance' initiative, Malviya remarked.
The BJP leader included a passage from a Summit document stating, “We extend our full support to India for its BRICS Chairship in 2026 and the hosting of the XVIII BRICS Summit in India.”
Earlier, PM Modi denounced terrorism during the BRICS Session on Peace and Security.
“Terrorism poses the gravest threat to humanity today. India recently faced a vicious and cowardly terrorist attack. The Pahalgam incident on April 22 was a direct assault on the essence, identity, and dignity of India,” he stated.
PM Modi declared, “This attack was not merely an assault on India but on all of humanity. In this moment of grief and sorrow, I extend my heartfelt thanks to the nations that stood with us and expressed their support and condolences.”
He also emphasized that condemning terrorism should be a principle, not a matter of convenience. “If our response varies based on the location or target of the attack, it would be a betrayal of humanity itself,” he asserted.
