Why Did PM Modi Receive Such a Grand Welcome in Bhavnagar, Gujarat?

Bhavnagar, Sep 20 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a spectacular roadshow in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, on Saturday, drawing an immense crowd that turned out to greet him. Citizens filled the streets, waving flags and showering him with flowers while chanting 'Modi Modi' and 'Bharat Mata ki Jai'.

Students in vibrant costumes performed dances themed around 'Operation Sindoor' to express their appreciation for the Prime Minister. Traditional dance acts also added to the festive atmosphere during the roadshow.

The Prime Minister is set to unveil a range of transformative development initiatives across various sectors during a significant event at Jawahar Maidan in Bhavnagar.

He will engage in the 'Samudra se Samriddhi' program, inaugurating and laying the foundation for projects exceeding Rs 34,200 crore.

Prior to the 'Samudra se Samriddhi' program, PM Modi remarked that the projects being inaugurated would benefit citizens nationwide, labeling the day as pivotal for the maritime industry.

In a message on X, PM Modi emphasized, 'Today, 20th September, is a crucial day for India's maritime sector and our journey toward self-reliance. I will participate in the 'Samudra se Samriddhi' program in Bhavnagar around 10:30 A.M.'

'Projects worth over Rs 34,200 crore will be inaugurated or their foundation stones laid. These initiatives will serve people across India. Our focus will also include key policies for the shipping sector,' he added.

The event's central theme is the maritime sector, with PM Modi set to launch and inaugurate projects valued over Rs 7,870 crore. These projects encompass essential infrastructure enhancements at major Indian ports.

Highlights include the inauguration of the Mumbai International Cruise Terminal at Indira Dock and the foundation stone laying for a new container terminal at Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port in Kolkata.

Other maritime advancements cover a new cargo berth and container handling facilities at Paradip Port (Odisha), Tuna Tekra Multi-Cargo Terminal in Gujarat, and modernization efforts at Kamarajar Port (Ennore, Tamil Nadu), Chennai Port, Car Nicobar Island, Deendayal Port (Kandla), along with inland waterway facilities at Patna and Varanasi.

In Gujarat alone, the Prime Minister will unveil an extensive portfolio of projects worth Rs 26,354 crore, targeting sectors such as renewable energy, port infrastructure, roadways, healthcare, and urban transport.

Noteworthy initiatives will include the inauguration of the HPLNG Regasification Terminal at Chhara Port, the Acrylics and Oxo Alcohol Project at the Gujarat IOCL Refinery, the 600 MW Green Shoe Initiative, and the 475 MW PM-KUSUM solar feeder for farmers.

Additionally, the Badeli 45 MW Solar PV Project and the complete solarization of Dhordo village will also be inaugurated.

In the healthcare and urban infrastructure sectors, foundation stones will be laid for expansions at Sir T. General Hospital in Bhavnagar and Guru Govind Singh Government Hospital in Jamnagar.

PM Modi will also initiate the four-laning of 70 kilometers of national highways, enhancing connectivity and trade routes in the state.

Several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) will be signed between government entities and private players, strengthening public-private collaborations and expediting regional development.

The Prime Minister will also conduct an aerial survey of the Dholera Special Investment Region, envisioned as a greenfield industrial city centered on sustainable industrialization, smart infrastructure, and global investment.
