Vaishali (Bihar), Aug 14 (NationPress) Government initiatives are acting as a lifeline for residents of Bihar’s Vaishali district, as the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) provides families with a solid roof over their heads while the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN) enables farmers to cultivate their lands without financial burdens.
In Kushiyari Panchayat within Bidupur block, beneficiary Jaikishun Thakur shared how the scheme has significantly altered his family’s circumstances.
“Previously, during the monsoon, water would leak into our home, causing distress for the children. Now, with a pucca house, that issue has been resolved. We owe our gratitude to the Prime Minister for this,” Thakur expressed to IANS.
In parallel, farmers are deeming PM-KISAN as an essential aid for their agricultural activities.
Randhir Kumar, from the Bidupur police station area, remarked to IANS: “PM-KISAN has been a remarkable initiative. The payments are directly deposited into our bank accounts, allowing us to manage farming costs promptly. We used to face difficulties due to insufficient funds, but now we can farm without delays. We thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Central government for this support.”
This transformation is rooted in the vision articulated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in May 2014, which aimed to enhance the living standards of the underprivileged by ensuring every household possesses a pucca home. This commitment resulted in the introduction of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Urban (2015) and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Gramin (2016), providing dignity and security to millions across India.
Similarly, PM-KISAN, initiated in 2019, is designed to deliver guaranteed income support to farmers. On August 2, 2025, Prime Minister Modi launched the 20th installment of the scheme from Varanasi, benefiting over 9.7 crore farmers nationwide. Through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), around Rs 20,500 crore was transferred directly to the beneficiaries, promoting transparency and eliminating intermediaries.
For the inhabitants of Vaishali, these schemes signify more than just government initiatives—they embody hope, stability, and empowerment. With such programs reaching grassroots levels, the Central government’s actions are gradually transforming rural life, one family at a time.
