Patna, May 25 (NationPress) The political ramifications continue to unfold following the expulsion of Tej Pratap Yadav, the eldest son of RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav. Former Bihar Chief Minister and Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has launched a pointed critique against the RJD patriarch, questioning the selective ethics and the timing surrounding this disciplinary measure.
Manjhi, who also serves as the patron of the Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), condemned Lalu Prasad's decision to expel Tej Pratap for a six-year term from both the party and the family. This decision came after a viral video and images surfaced, showcasing Tej Pratap with Anushka Yadav, a woman he claims to have been in a long-standing relationship with.
“When Aishwarya Rai, the granddaughter of Daroga Prasad Rai and daughter of Chandrika Rai, was violently ousted from the household, why did your values and ethics fail to surface at that moment, Lalu Yadav?” Manjhi questioned.
“If you genuinely valued dignity and culture, you should have expelled those accountable for Aishwarya’s mistreatment back then,” he added.
The controversy reignited after images and video featuring Tej Pratap Yadav and Anushka Yadav went viral on social media platforms.
Initially, Tej Pratap asserted that his Facebook account had been hacked, but the content continued to gain traction, leading Lalu Prasad to take the extreme measure of disowning and suspending Tej Pratap from both the party and the family.
However, Manjhi remains unconvinced by the moral justification for this decision, deeming it as too little, too late.
Recalling previous incidents, Manjhi alleged that Rabri Devi, Lalu Prasad’s wife and former Bihar CM, had physically assaulted Aishwarya Rai prior to her removal from the family residence.
“Lalu Yadav, you speak of sanskar (values) and maryada (dignity). But when Aishwarya was beaten and humiliated, you did not expel anyone. Where was your commitment to culture then?” Manjhi pointedly remarked.
He further questioned why no actions were taken against family members who reportedly mistreated Aishwarya, and why she was abandoned shortly after her marriage fell apart.
Earlier, Manjhi issued a powerful statement on X, threatening political repercussions: “Every woman in Bihar will seek justice for the injustice faced by Daroga Babu’s granddaughter Aishwarya Rai in the upcoming elections,” he stated.
He also cautioned the Lalu family against repeating similar mistakes with Anushka Yadav, insinuating that their decisions are motivated by political gain rather than ethics.
“If Tej Pratap was in a relationship prior to marriage, why did you destroy another girl's life? Will the Lalu family now jeopardize Anushka Yadav’s future for political convenience?” Manjhi questioned.
