Political Leaders Express Mourning Over Loss of Lives in Tirupati Stampede

New Delhi, Jan 9 (NationPress) Prominent leaders from multiple political factions, such as the Bharatiya Janata Party, Telugu Desam Party, Congress, Bharat Rashtra Samithi, and Aam Aadmi Party, have voiced their condolences for the individuals who perished in a heartbreaking stampede that transpired near Vishnu Nivasam in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh.

Union Minister Bandi Sanjay appealed to the Andhra Pradesh government to ensure that the injured receive top-notch medical care and he offered prayers for their swift recovery.

On social media platform X, Bandi Sanjay shared, "I am deeply saddened by the tragic stampede in Tirumala which led to the loss of lives. My heartfelt condolences extend to the grieving families. I urge the Andhra Pradesh government to guarantee that the injured get the finest medical attention and I pray for their rapid recovery."

Union Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu also conveyed his sincere condolences to the families affected by this tragedy.

"I am profoundly saddened by the tragic stampede in Tirupati. My deepest sympathies go out to the bereaved families. May the departed souls rest in peace. I pray for strength for those impacted during this challenging time," Kinjarapu noted on X.

Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, expressed his sorrow over the tragic loss of lives in the stampede at Tirupati.

Following the incident, Rahul Gandhi encouraged Congress members to extend all possible assistance in this tough period.

In a post on X, he mentioned, "The tragic stampede in Tirupati is heart-wrenching. My deepest condolences to the families in mourning. Wishing a speedy recovery to all injured. I implore Congress leaders and workers to offer all necessary help during this trying time."

Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party Chief Arvind Kejriwal also expressed his sorrow and offered prayers for the peace of the deceased souls.

"The incident that occurred at the Tirupati temple is deeply unfortunate. May God grant the departed souls a resting place at His lotus feet. I pray for the swift recovery of the injured devotees so they can return home soon," Kejriwal posted on X.

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan expressed shock and profound sorrow regarding the tragic stampede near Vishnu Nivasam, which resulted in the loss of six lives.

Kalyan recommended that the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) authorities take immediate action to provide appropriate support and information to the families of the victims.

In a statement from his office, he said, "I am deeply distressed to learn that six individuals lost their lives in the stampede at the centers designated for Vaikuntha Dwara Darshan tickets in Tirupati. It is regrettable that devotees who came to seek blessings met with such a tragic fate. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased. I urge the Medical and Health Department to enhance medical services for the injured."

"Reports indicate that some of the deceased and injured were from other regions. I encourage the TTD authorities to make prompt arrangements to provide adequate information and assistance to their families. Additionally, the TTD governing council should take responsibility for visiting the families of the deceased and offering them moral support," the statement further outlined.

Kalyan also called on Jana Sena leaders and supporters to assist officials and police in managing the queues at ticket counters in Tirupati.

The statement read, "In light of this incident, I request Jana Sena leaders and members to help officials and police in regulating the queues at the ticket counters in Tirupati."

Andhra Pradesh Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy also expressed his profound sadness over the loss of lives in the tragic stampede in Tirupati.

Reddy announced that he, along with Revenue Minister Anagani Satya Prasad and Home Minister Anitha, would visit Tirupati by Thursday morning to address necessary measures and meet the families of the victims.

He stated, "An unfortunate incident occurred in Tirupati last night, coinciding with the upcoming Mukkoti Ekadashi Utsav where lakhs of devotees were expected, and it is deeply saddening that six pilgrims have lost their lives in this stampede. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed us to ensure arrangements for the darshan of other pilgrims without causing distress. Following the Chief Minister's guidance, Revenue Minister Anagani Satya Prasad, Home Minister Anitha, and I will arrive in Tirupati by tomorrow morning. We will implement necessary actions and meet the families of the victims."

Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh conveyed his heartfelt sorrow regarding the tragic stampede that resulted in the loss of several pilgrims in Tirupati, assuring that the state government would support the families of the deceased.

In a press release issued promptly after the incident, Lokesh stated that the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) must enhance safety measures to prevent such incidents from recurring.

The press statement read, "The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) must implement more robust arrangements to ensure that similar unfortunate incidents do not take place again. The state government will certainly support the family members of the pilgrims who lost their lives in this incident."

"I am deeply saddened by the loss of devotees in the stampede that occurred in Tirupati during the ticket release for Vikunta Dwara Darshanam," stated the Minister for IT, Electronics and Education.

KT Rama Rao (KTR), working president of BRS, has expressed profound grief over the tragic stampede in Tirupati, which claimed six lives.

"I am saddened by the loss of lives in the stampede at Tirupati. My deepest condolences to the mourning families. My thoughts and prayers are with those who have lost loved ones in this tragic event," KTR posted on X.

K Kavitha, a member of the BRS, also expressed her shock and offered condolences for the six lives lost in the Tirupati stampede incident. She prayed for the rapid recovery of the injured.

In a post on X, K. Kavitha wrote, "I am deeply saddened by the tragic stampede at Vishnu Nivasam in Tirupati. My heartfelt condolences go to the families of those who have passed away, and I pray for the quick and healthy recovery of the injured. The stampede incident at Vishnu Niwasam in Tirupati is shocking. I extend my deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and pray to Lord Venkateswara Swamy, the God of Kali Yuga, for the swift recovery of the injured."

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his deep sorrow regarding the loss of lives in the tragic stampede.

PM Modi stated that the state government is offering all possible help to the victims of the incident.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed his immense shock over the deaths of devotees in the stampede that occurred near Vishnu Niwasam in Tirupati during the distribution of 'darshan' tokens at Tirumala Srivari Vaikuntha Dwara, as per a statement from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO).

A total of six individuals lost their lives and several others were injured following a stampede that broke out near Vishnu Niwasam in Tirupati on Wednesday evening.

The incident took place near Vishnu Niwasam, close to the Tirumala Srivari Vaikuntha Dwara ticketing counter, during the distribution of 'darshan' tokens.

According to a statement from the office of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Chairman BR Naidu, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is closely monitoring the situation and will meet with the families of the stampede victims on Thursday morning.

The statement mentioned, "This unfortunate event has resulted in the loss of six pilgrims. So far, only one pilgrim has been identified, while the others remain unidentified. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is quite serious about the incident and has expressed dissatisfaction with the management by officials during a teleconference. The Chief Minister will visit the families of the deceased tomorrow at 11:45 a.m. He has warned that such incidents must not recur and is closely monitoring updates on the matter."

Vaikunta Dwara Darshan is scheduled to take place at the Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Temple from January 10 to 19.

This event allows devotees to pass through the sacred gate to receive blessings from Lord Venkateswara.

The TTD announced that offline tokens for darshan would be distributed starting January 9, with nine token distribution centers established in Tirupati.

Since Wednesday morning, devotees from various regions of the country began arriving in large numbers to obtain tokens.

However, by the end of the day, the high volume of people led to congestion at all centers.
