New Delhi, Jan 17 (NationPress) The quick commerce service Blinkit has unveiled a temporary store at the majestic Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj, allowing attendees to secure all their pooja essentials and daily necessities within 10 minutes.
“Today we’ve inaugurated a temporary Blinkit store at Mahakumbh Mela, Prayagraj, aimed at accommodating both pilgrims and visitors,” stated Albinder Dhindsa, CEO of Blinkit, via social media platform X.
The store offers a variety of items from milk, fruits, and vegetables for offerings to essential goods like chargers, power banks, towels, and even blankets.
According to Dhindsa, the 100 sq ft store will be delivering essentials in Arail Tent City, Dome City, ITDC Luxury Camp, Devrakh, and other significant areas of the Mahakumbh Mela.
“Our teams are prepared to provide a specially curated selection including pooja items, milk, curd, fruits & vegetables (for both personal use and for daan), chargers, power banks, towels, blankets, bedsheets, and more. We’ve also stocked Triveni Sangam Jal bottles,” he further noted.
Mahakumbh 2025 is a once-in-12-years spiritual gathering, attracting over 450 million devotees globally, running until February 26.
The event is expected to witness millions of devotees flocking to the sacred town of Prayagraj over the next two months for a sacred dip to ‘cleanse their sins’.
On Makar Sankranti, alone, around 1.60 crore devotees are anticipated to have taken a holy dip at the Sangam by noon, signifying a grand commencement to the Mahakumbh 2025 festivities.
A 21-member foreign delegation from 10 countries also participated in the holy dip at the Sangam on Thursday.
Industry forecasts suggest that brands are likely to invest between Rs 1,800 and Rs 2,000 crore in advertising campaigns across various platforms, employing AI-driven themes, LED outdoor screens, virtual assistants, and mobile apps at this grand event.
According to the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the event is predicted to create a revenue of Rs 1.2 lakh crore for Uttar Pradesh.
Government projections estimate that Mahakumbh could yield Rs 2 lakh crore in trade if each of the 40 crore visitors spends an average of Rs 5,000.
Companies from both India and abroad are competing for space to showcase their offerings during the 45-day event.
