Post-Article 370, J&K Experiences Rapid Development Under PM Modi: Naqvi on Sonamarg Tunnel Inauguration

New Delhi, Jan 13 (NationPress) In a pivotal moment for Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the Sonamarg Tunnel on Monday. Discussing the advancements in the region, senior BJP figure Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi noted that since the abrogation of Article 370, J&K is experiencing extraordinary development under PM Modi's guidance.
In his remarks to IANS, he stated, "The abrogation of Article 370 has opened doors for significant growth in J&K. The citizens of this region are now engaged in both the developmental initiatives and political evolution. This change exemplifies PM Modi’s leadership, which has fostered an environment of trust and advancement throughout the nation, and its effects are distinctly apparent in J&K."
Naqvi underscored that the region, previously characterized by turmoil, has transformed into a center of growth and opportunity, mirroring the Union government's vision for inclusive development and stability.
During the inauguration ceremony, PM Modi interacted with the engineers and laborers whose efforts enabled all-weather connectivity. He listened attentively to the workers while gathering technical insights about the Rs 2,700 crore tunnel.
The Prime Minister commended the dedication displayed by everyone involved in constructing the tunnel amidst the area's challenging climate and terrain.
Responding to recent comments from Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the INDIA bloc's lack of unity, Naqvi criticized the opposition coalition, asserting, "This alliance was established on a basis of convenience and corruption. It has failed to fulfill its commitments, and today, even its members no longer have faith in one another."
"The coalition, motivated by negative agendas and opportunism, is now fragmented, lacking a leader to steer it or propel it forward," he stated.
Naqvi pointed out that coalitions formed on divisive or self-serving grounds are destined to crumble under the weight of their internal disparities.
As Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi launches his electoral campaign in Delhi, Naqvi dismissed the Congress party’s chances, remarking, "The public will no longer be deceived by the victim narrative propagated by Congress. This election centers around development, not lamentation."
He emphasized that those who have evaded accountability for years will face the electorate's judgement. "The deceptive promises and justifications of the past are now fully exposed, and the populace is prepared to deliver a definitive mandate against them," he added.
