New Delhi, Nov 13 (NationPress) In reaction to the comments made by Congress leader and former Home Minister P. Chidambaram, who stated that the government is aware of the existence of “home-grown terrorists,” BJP MP Giriraj Singh criticized him on Thursday for seemingly showing sympathy towards terrorists. He urged Chidambaram to instead commend the security personnel who averted a significant disaster.
In a conversation with IANS, Giriraj Singh remarked, “I want to remind P. Chidambaram, a learned individual and former Home Minister, that instead of praising terrorists, he should recognize the efforts of the security personnel who effectively prevented such a major tragedy.”
He added, “He should also consider that the policy of appeasement and protection for terrorists has persisted from Pandit Nehru to Dr. Manmohan Singh.”
Singh questioned, “Whose photograph appeared with Yasin Malik? Who was he? Has he ever contemplated that? He should focus on national interest.”
Chidambaram's remarks were made in a post on X. While he did not directly address the recent Delhi blast, which resulted in 12 deaths and left 20 injured, he raised concerns over the reasons and conditions leading Indian citizens to turn into terrorists.
He stated in his post, “I have consistently argued, before and after the Pahalgam terror attack, that there are two types of terrorists — foreign-trained infiltrators and home-grown terrorists. I articulated this in Parliament during the debate on 'Operation Sindoor,' and I faced mockery and trolling for acknowledging home-grown terrorists.”
Giriraj Singh also responded to Rahul Gandhi's allegations regarding electoral fraud, saying, “The Election Commission’s team deserves applause. Despite your attempts to sow confusion, not a single re-poll was mandated in the Bihar elections. You did not offer any suggestions during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). Spreading confusion will not yield results. Whenever you lose, you blame the ECI or EVMs, but during victories, you celebrate Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav. This dual standard will no longer be tolerated in the country.”
Additionally, Singh took a jab at RJD leader and Mahagathbandhan's chief ministerial candidate, who recently declared that he would soon be sworn in as Chief Minister, stating, “Only someone who has returned from Agra or Ranchi would make such a declaration without the Election Commission's certificate.”
