Patna, Oct 6 (NationPress) Following the Election Commission's announcement of the Bihar Assembly election timeline, Prashant Kishor, the founder of the Jan Suraj Party, conveyed his optimism regarding his party's chances of winning.
In response to inquiries from the press, Kishor detailed his party's electoral strategy.
“In the previous elections, both alliances garnered 72 percent of the votes. This time, we anticipate that the Jan Suraj Party will secure the remaining 28 percent. Various surveys indicate that both alliances may experience a decline of about 10 percent in their vote share, which will likely shift towards us, resulting in our vote share reaching approximately 48 percent,” he stated with assurance.
Addressing those who labeled the Jan Suraj Party as a ‘vote-cutter’ party, Kishor remarked, “We regard this as a badge of honor. We will siphon off enough votes from both alliances to render them obsolete.”
Embracing the two-phase election timetable, Kishor expressed, “We have been preparing all along, and with the exam now scheduled, we are relieved. Today signifies the end of bondage for the people of Bihar. This time, citizens will vote not for Modi, Nitish, or Lalu, but for their children’s future.”
In discussing his aspirations, the founder of the Jan Suraj Party added, “We aim to create a Bihar that draws individuals from Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra for education and employment.”
He further criticized Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, claiming, “Nitish Kumar inaugurated the Patna Metro this Monday. That represents his final inauguration. We have stated that next time, he won’t be enjoying curd and chuda at the Chief Minister’s residence on Anne Marg.”
Kishor also expressed that conducting elections in two phases was a beneficial decision.
“Previously, elections were staggered to allow Narendra Modi to hold more rallies. However, even the BJP has come to realize that Modi’s rallies won’t significantly impact the outcome, so it’s best to conclude the elections promptly,” he mentioned.
Meanwhile, Uday Singh, national president of the Jan Suraj Party, also welcomed the poll announcement.
“This time, elections will occur after Diwali and Chhath. Those returning home for the festivities will vote for change in Bihar,” Singh added.
