Thiruvananthapuram, October 21 (NationPress) - President Droupadi Murmu arrived at the state capital's airport on Tuesday for a four-day visit to Kerala, which features a significant pilgrimage to Sabarimala.
She was warmly welcomed on the tarmac by Kerala Governor Rajendra V. Arlekar, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, and other senior officials.
After her arrival, she proceeded to the Raj Bhavan, the official residence of the Governor, for the remainder of the day.
On Wednesday, the President is set to visit Sabarimala.
She will take an Air Force helicopter from the airport to Nilakkal, with an expected arrival time of 10:20 a.m. From there, she will travel by road to Pamba.
Upon completing her rituals at the Pamba Ganapathi Temple, the President will ascend the hill in a special Gurkha jeep, bypassing the usual convoy.
The ascent will follow the traditional Swami Ayyappan route, accompanied by the Governor and her spouse.
By noon, the President is anticipated to arrive at Sannidhanam for darshan and will later stay at the Devaswom Guest House.
She plans to return to Pamba at 3 p.m. after lunch.
