Tirupati, Nov 21 (NationPress) President Droupadi Murmu made a visit on Friday to the revered Sri Venkateswara temple located on Tirumala hill in the vicinity of this city.
She embarked from the Padmavati Guest House in the morning and adhered to the traditional practices of Tirumala by first stopping at the Sri Bhu Varahaswamy temple.
Upon her arrival at the Tirumala temple, she was greeted with warmth by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Chairman B.R. Naidu, Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal, and various officials.
A group of priests performed an 'Istikpal' welcome in accordance with temple customs. After paying her respects at the 'Dwajasthambam', the President had her darshan of the deity.
Accompanying her was Andhra Pradesh Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy.
Following her prayers, the President received 'Vedasirvachanam' blessings from the priests at the Ranganayakula Mandapam. The TTD Chairman and EO presented her with Srivari photographs, Tirtha Prasadam, and the TTD 2026 calendar and diaries.
Participating in this ceremony were TTD Board Members Panabaka Lakshmi, Janaki Devi, Bhanu Prakash Reddy, among others.
President Murmu arrived in Tirupati on Thursday, where she also offered prayers at the Sri Padmavati Ammavari temple in Tiruchanoor.
She reached Tirumala on Thursday evening to a warm welcome from Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anita and TTD officials.
After her visit to the Tirumala temple, the President departed for Hyderabad to inaugurate the Bharatiya Kala Mahotsav 2025 at Rashtrapati Nilayam in Secunderabad.
The second iteration of the Bharatiya Kala Mahotsav will celebrate the rich cultural, culinary, and artistic legacies of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Goa, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and Daman and Diu.
After spending the night at Raj Bhavan, she is scheduled to travel to Puttaparthi in the Sri Sathya Sai district of Andhra Pradesh on Saturday.
There, she will partake in a special session commemorating the centenary celebration of Sri Sathya Sai Baba at Prasanthi Nilayam, Puttaparthi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the centenary festivities on Wednesday and paid respects to Sathya Sai Baba.
