New Delhi, Nov 1 (NationPress) President Droupadi Murmu is set to visit Uttarakhand from November 2 to 4. During this period, she will address the state Assembly to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the formation of this hill state, as confirmed by an official on Saturday.
On November 2, the President will participate in the second convocation ceremony of the University of Patanjali in Haridwar, according to the statement.
On November 3, she will speak at the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly in Dehradun to honor the silver jubilee of the state. Additionally, she will attend a function celebrating 125 years of the establishment of the Raj Bhavan in Nainital.
On November 4, the President will visit the Neem Karoli Baba Ashram in Kainchi Dham and will chair the 20th convocation of Kumaun University in Nainital before returning to New Delhi.
Last month, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced a special two-day Assembly session to celebrate the 25 years since the establishment of the hill state.
"This is our Silver Jubilee year. Over the past 25 years, our state has witnessed numerous challenges and progressions. To reflect on our development journey, a special two-day session in the Assembly has been proposed, with dates to be announced soon," he remarked.
Uttarakhand was formed on November 9, 2000, as the 27th state of India, having been carved from northern Uttar Pradesh. Initially called Uttaranchal, it officially adopted the name Uttarakhand in 2007.
