Gandhinagar, Feb 27 (NationPress) President Droupadi Murmu has touched down in Gujarat on Wednesday, marking the concluding phase of her three-state tour.

She arrived at Vadodara after participating in a mass wedding ceremony organized by Shri Bageshwar Jan Seva Samiti in Gadha, Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh.

The President is set to travel to Ektanagar to honor the Statue of Unity and experience the Narmada Aarti at Kevadia in Gujarat.

The Statue of Unity stands as a tribute to the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who was the first Home Minister of independent India. He played a pivotal role in unifying all 562 princely states to forge the Republic of India.

Inaugurated on October 31, 2018, the world’s tallest statue, the Statue of Unity, is set against the magnificent backdrop of the Satpura and Vindhyachal hills in Kevadia, Gujarat.

Standing at a height of 182 metres (approximately 600 feet), this monumental statue is dedicated to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the visionary behind independent India. The towering structure overlooks the River Narmada, serving as a tribute from the people of Gujarat to a leader who prioritized the welfare of the populace.

On February 27, the President will visit the Ekta Skill Development Centre at Kevadia and preside over the 44th convocation ceremony of the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad.

On February 28, she will attend the third convocation of the National Forensic Sciences University in Gandhinagar.

Additionally, she will pay a visit to the Smritivan Earthquake Memorial in Bhuj on the same day.

On March 1, she is scheduled to explore Dholavira, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its ancient Harappan civilization remnants.

During the first segment of her journey, the President participated in the centenary celebrations of the Patna Medical College in Bihar on Tuesday.
