Prime Minister Modi to Unveil the Collection of Subramania Bharati's Complete Works Tomorrow

Chennai, Dec 10 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to unveil a comprehensive collection of the works of the illustrious Tamil poet and freedom fighter Subramania Bharati on Wednesday at his official residence located at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, in New Delhi.
This occasion coincides with the birth anniversary of Subramania Bharati.
The 23-volume compilation has been meticulously assembled and edited by Seeni Viswanathan and published by Alliance Publishers.
It encompasses a wealth of details regarding the editions, thorough explanations, essential documents, background context, and deep philosophical interpretations of Bharati's writings.
Subramania Bharati, originally named C. Subramanian, was a prominent Indian author, poet, journalist, educator, freedom fighter, social reformer, and a master of multiple languages.
He was honored with the title 'Bharati' for his impactful poetry and is recognized as a trailblazer of modern Tamil literature, often referred to as Bharathiyaar or Mahakavi Bharati (the great poet Bharati).
His literary contributions, which include stirring patriotic songs from India's independence era, ignited a profound sense of nationalism among the populace.
Through his writings, he exalted India's rich cultural and spiritual legacy, utilizing a language that resonated with the masses.
Bharati was a vigorous proponent of women's empowerment, denounced child marriage, criticized the caste system, and advocated for essential societal and religious reforms.
During his stay in Varanasi, he gained insights into Hindu theology and various languages.
He contributed as a journalist to numerous publications including Swadesamitran, The Hindu, Bala Bharata, Vijaya, Chakravarthini, and India.
He regarded Sister Nivedita, a follower of Swami Vivekananda, as his spiritual guide.

Bharati is distinguished as the first poet whose works were nationalized by the Indian government in 1949.
