Jaipur, Sep 6 (NationPress) The Special Operations Group (SOG) has escalated its inquiry regarding claims that Kanchan Chauhan, the daughter of Beawar BJP MLA Shankar Singh Rawat, purportedly acquired a government job through a fraudulent disability certificate.
Currently serving as Tehsildar in Karera, Bhilwara, Chauhan is accused of exploiting the certificate during her Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) examination to secure the Naib Tehsildar position.
The office of the Additional Director General of Police, ATS and SOG, has notified Chauhan that the investigation is being led by the Deputy Superintendent of Police, SOG, Jaipur.
As part of the investigation, she was instructed to attend a medical exam on September 3. A medical board was assembled at SMS Hospital, Jaipur, specifically for this purpose. However, despite the doctors being present from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Chauhan did not appear for the examination.
This was not her first missed examination appointment; on September 1, she had gone to the SOG headquarters, but the medical board was not ready at SMS Hospital, resulting in a postponement.
Her absence on September 3 has now led to an extended investigation, officials confirmed.
The inquiry was initiated after Phanish Kumar Soni, a resident of Beawar, lodged a complaint on August 12, claiming that Chauhan used a fraudulent disability certificate to secure her job. Following this complaint, the SOG summoned her and requested several documents, including a self-attested copy of her Aadhaar card, the appointment order from her department, and four passport-sized photographs.
In defense of his daughter, MLA Shankar Singh Rawat labeled the allegations as “completely baseless,” asserting that the truth would emerge upon the conclusion of the investigation.
This incident is part of a broader investigation by the SOG into the misuse of fake disability certificates in government hiring. So far, 37 officials and employees have been identified as having gained employment through such fraudulent means.
However, many medical assessments for the accused are still outstanding. Once these evaluations are completed, the SOG is anticipated to file FIRs against those who are found culpable. This case has garnered significant political and administrative scrutiny due to its implications regarding fraudulent recruitment practices within the state.
