Bengaluru, Sep 6 (NationPress) - A deeply troubling incident has been reported, where a teacher allegedly raped a minor schoolgirl after coercing her with an obscene photograph. This shocking event unfolded within the jurisdiction of the Humnabad police station in Bidar district, Karnataka, and has led to the arrest of the accused educator.

Authorities have indicated that they are in the process of verifying the details surrounding the case.

The complaint reveals that the victim is a Class 9 student enrolled in a private educational institution.

Given the sensitive nature of the case, particularly as the accused belongs to a minority community, police have accelerated their investigation and are proceeding with caution, according to sources.

Reports suggest that there was a significant delay in the victim's father filing a complaint. Preliminary findings indicate that he may have faced external pressures before coming forward.

The allegations state that the assault occurred within the classroom setting, where the teacher allegedly blackmailed the student with her nude photograph and made threats against her father's life if she rejected his advances.

The accused is reported to have captured the student’s naked image during a mobile video call and subsequently used it to manipulate her. The situation escalated to the point where the victim refused to attend school.

After discussions with her parents, the girl disclosed her traumatic experience, prompting her father to file a police report. The Humnabad police have since initiated a case under the POCSO Act and are actively investigating the matter.

Previously, on August 18, 2023, the Bidar police opened a case against an assistant teacher from a government primary school for marrying a minor girl under the POCSO Act, 2019.

On July 1, 2024, a government school teacher was also arrested in Kamalnagar taluk, Bidar district, after a complaint lodged by the victim's father under the POCSO framework.
