Mysuru (Karnataka), Nov 3 (NationPress) A tragic event unfolded in the Mysuru district of Karnataka, where a young man accused of impregnating a schoolgirl took his own life by leaping into a canal on Monday.
The individual, identified as Ramu, aged 27, was a resident of Kudakuru village in Piriyapatna taluq. The incident took place in a school under the jurisdiction of the Piriyapatna police station.
As reported by the police, Ramu left a voice message prior to his death, asserting that the claims against him regarding the schoolgirl's pregnancy were baseless.
In his message, he pointed fingers at the school's physical education teacher, alleging involvement in the girl's pregnancy and calling for a DNA test to clarify the teacher's position.
In the recorded message, Ramu expressed, “I am not the one responsible for the schoolgirl's pregnancy. I have no connection with her. I have been falsely accused, and living with dignity has become impossible. A doctor examined her, and her pregnancy was discovered during that visit.
“This situation is being concealed to protect the school's image. I am being accused merely because I spoke to her. The physical education teacher is the true culprit. To shield him, I am being wrongfully targeted. In light of this, I have decided to end my life.”
The message was sent on October 31, after which Ramu disappeared. His body was subsequently discovered in the Tunga Canal, near Bettada Tunga village. Prior to taking the plunge, he parked his motorcycle and left behind his mobile phone, slippers, and jacket near the vehicle.
The police are actively investigating the matter, and further details are anticipated.
