Tirupati, Dec 26 (NationPress) The youth should be introduced to tales of legendary figures from the Puranas rather than modern superheroes like Batman, Spiderman, and Superman, stated Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday, emphasizing the significance of linking the younger generation with India's vast cultural legacy.
He asserted that children ought to learn about heroes from Indian epics rather than Hollywood's fictional characters. During the inaugural session of the seventh Bharatiya Vijnan Sammelan, he urged parents and educators to share the narratives of Puranic heroes like Ram, Krishna, Arjuna, and Hanuman, focusing on their admirable traits, bravery, and wisdom.
Naidu highlighted that comprehending these epics aids the youth in discerning between good and evil, instills ethical values, and nurtures pride in India's everlasting contributions to philosophy, ethics, and governance.
He expressed that the younger generation should also learn about 'Ram Rajya'. “We must convey to them that the Mahabharata and Ramayana surpass the Avatar movie,” he remarked.
The Chief Minister accentuated India's civilizational knowledge heritage and its journey towards scientific and technological preeminence.
During the event, he was accompanied by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat and Union Minister of State for Science and Technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh, among others.
Naidu reiterated the necessity of safeguarding India's knowledge systems while progressing in science and technology for future advancements. He voiced the need to preserve and rejuvenate India's ancient knowledge traditions, expressing optimism that the country would reclaim its historical scientific prestige and continue to contribute effectively to global scientific advancement.
Reflecting on historical achievements, he mentioned the Indus Valley Civilization's urban planning, the worldwide popularity of yoga, the principles of Ayurveda, and notable academic institutions like Takshashila and Nalanda.
He acknowledged the contributions of illustrious Indian thinkers including Aryabhata, Bhaskaracharya, Charaka, Dhanvantari, and Kautilya, whom he described as perennial sources of inspiration.
