Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 20 (NationPress) Renowned actor Mohanlal expressed his heartfelt reaction after receiving the esteemed Dadasaheb Phalke Award 2023, calling it a significant acknowledgment for both himself and a remarkable milestone for Malayalam cinema.
“I feel immense gratitude towards my film family and the audience who have played a crucial role in shaping me into who I am today. I embrace this moment with great joy. This award symbolizes my chance to give back to all those who have supported me throughout my 48-year journey in cinema,” Mohanlal stated.
He further conveyed his appreciation to the jury and the government for their decision to honor him. “I am thankful to my audience, my film family who have molded me, and everyone who has been a part of this incredible journey. This is not just a personal honor but also a significant recognition for Malayalam cinema. I share this accolade with everyone who has shown me love. Mohanlal is the second Malayalee ever to receive the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, following the acclaimed director Adoor Gopalakrishnan, who received it in 2004.
