Mumbai, Nov 7 (NationPress) The Maharashtra government has established a six-member high-level committee led by Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue, Stamps and Registration) Vikas Kharge to thoroughly investigate the alleged irregularities in land transactions related to Survey No. 88 in Mundhwa, Pune. This inquiry involves Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s son, Parth Pawar.
This decision comes in response to reports from the media exposing potential violations in the buying and selling of land documents. The committee is anticipated to present its findings within a month.
Following the directives of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has issued an official order to form this committee, as stated by the government.
The panel is tasked with delivering its findings and suggestions within a one-month timeframe. The committee, chaired by Vikas Kharge, includes the Pune Divisional Commissioner, Commissioner of Land Records, Director of Land Records, Inspector General of Registration, Controller of Stamps, Pune District Collector, and a Joint Secretary serving as the member secretary.
The committee will carry out a comprehensive and unbiased investigation to determine if any irregularities have taken place in the land transactions. Should any irregularities be identified, the committee will pinpoint the responsible parties and recommend suitable disciplinary or legal actions. They will also propose measures to revert the land to its original condition, if necessary, and suggest strong safeguards to prevent future occurrences.
Minister Bawankule stated, “The government is dedicated to maintaining transparency and accountability in land administration. This high-level committee will ensure a thorough investigation within a set timeframe, and strict actions will be enforced against any misconduct.”
Nonetheless, Shiv Sena UBT leader and former leader of the opposition in the state council, Ambadas Danve, has urged the state government to appoint a committee led by a retired judge to thoroughly probe the transaction of 40 acres of 'Mahar Watan' land (classified as government land) in Pune’s prestigious Mundhwa Koregaon Park area, linked to Amadea Enterprises LLP involving Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s son, Parth Pawar.
