New Delhi, Nov 3 (NationPress) During a fishing outing in a pond located in Begusarai, Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, was sharply criticized by BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain. Hussain remarked that this incident is yet another chapter in Gandhi's “reel drama.” He stated that Gandhi is preoccupied with fishing while all the fish have already slipped from his grasp, leaving him with nothing to catch—neither fish nor votes.
In an interview with IANS, Hussain expressed, “Rahul Gandhi is entangled in his own theatrics. He’s preoccupied with fishing, yet all opportunities have slipped through his fingers. There’s nothing left for him to seize—no fish and no electoral support. His antics are merely for the purpose of generating social media content. His voter base has completely eroded.”
The BJP leader also supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s previous comments, asserting, “The RJD coerced the Congress into accepting its leader as the Chief Ministerial candidate under duress. PM Modi has rightly highlighted Congress's state of helplessness.”
Furthermore, Hussain congratulated the Indian women’s cricket team on their remarkable achievement in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, where they triumphed over South Africa by 52 runs at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
“I extend my congratulations to our women’s cricket team for this phenomenal victory. There’s a wave of joy sweeping across the nation,” he noted.
In response to reports about foreign diplomats visiting Bihar to observe the BJP’s election campaign and the democratic process in India, Hussain stated, “The global community is closely monitoring the elections in Bihar. Nitish Kumar has dedicated over two decades to serving the public and will persist in doing so. This is beyond question.”
He also praised PM Modi’s recent rally in Bihar, calling it a massive success.
“Yesterday, two significant events captured the national spotlight—PM Modi’s rally and the women’s cricket team’s historic win. The attendance at the Prime Minister’s roadshow indicated that the NDA is poised for a return to power,” he added.
When questioned about Akhilesh Yadav’s recent appeal to ban the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Hussain dismissed it as a mere publicity stunt.
“No one pays heed to him. To attract attention, he targets an organization that fosters unity and advocates for the welfare of the nation. The public will respond appropriately,” he told IANS.
Meanwhile, on October 31, Akhilesh Yadav referenced Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel to criticize the RSS, claiming that the former Home Minister had previously banned the organization.
Yadav alleged during a press conference in Lucknow that both the Hindu Mahasabha and the RSS were banned for their supposed involvement in the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi.
