New Delhi, Aug 4 (NationPress) In response to the passing of former Chief Minister and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) founder Shibu Soren, the Congress party has decided to delay the scheduled 'special' press conference of Rahul Gandhi that was set for Monday.
This update was shared by Congress leader Pawan Khera on the social media platform X.
In his post, Khera stated, "In light of the tragic passing of ‘Guruji’ Shri Shibu Soren, today’s special press conference by Shri Rahul Gandhi has been postponed. Due to the sad demise of ‘Guruji’ Shri Shibu Soren ji, today’s special press conference by Shri Rahul Gandhi is postponed."
The Congress party also paid heartfelt tribute to the late tribal leader from its official handle on X, commending his lifelong fight for justice and the rights of tribal communities.

Shibu Soren, affectionately referred to as “Guruji” or “Dishom Guru”, passed away at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi on Monday morning at the age of 81.
As per the hospital’s statement, he succumbed at 8:56 a.m. after a battle with a prolonged kidney-related illness. He had also experienced a stroke over a month ago and had been on life support for the last month.
The hospital noted: "He passed away following a prolonged illness. He was suffering from a kidney ailment and had previously suffered a stroke a month and a half ago. He had been on life support for the past month."
Soren was under the supervision of Dr. A.K. Bhalla, Chairman of Nephrology, and a multidisciplinary team from Neurology and ICU at the hospital.
