As stated by the Rashtrapati Bhavan on its X handle, "President Droupadi Murmu visited Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi to pay her last respects to Shri Shibu Soren and offered condolences to his son and Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Shri Hemant Soren."
Earlier in the day, the President expressed her profound sorrow regarding Soren’s passing, calling it a "significant loss in the realm of social justice."

My deepest condolences go to his son and Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren Ji, his family members, and his many admirers," she added.
Soren passed away on Monday morning at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital after a prolonged illness, having been treated for kidney complications for over a month.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also visited the hospital to pay his respects and to comfort the grieving family.
He shared on X, "I visited Sir Ganga Ram Hospital to honor Shri Shibu Soren Ji and met with his family. My thoughts are with Hemant Ji, Kalpana Ji, and the many admirers of Shri Shibu Soren Ji."
A revered figure in tribal politics, Shibu Soren, affectionately known as “Guruji” or “Dishom Guru” in Jharkhand, was instrumental in the movement for Jharkhand's statehood.
Born on January 11, 1944, in Nemra village (then part of Bihar, now Jharkhand), he hailed from the Santhal tribal community. Soren held the position of Jharkhand’s Chief Minister three times—first in 2005, then from 2008 to 2009, and again from 2009 to 2010—though his tenures were often marred by political instability.
