Jaipur, July 17 (NationPress) Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, who is on a one-day visit to Rajasthan, had to travel by road to Dadiya, which is about 22 km from Jaipur, after his helicopter was unable to take off due to inclement weather conditions.
HM Shah arrived at Jaipur Airport around 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, intending to fly to Dadiya for a significant public function. However, officials confirmed that the helicopter's flight was canceled due to adverse weather.
Upon reaching Dadiya, the Union Minister inaugurated the Cooperative Conference and Employment Festival. This event is being organized in recognition of the United Nations General Assembly's designation of 2025 as the International Year of Cooperatives. The Central government has assigned 54 cooperative-related initiatives to states, with Rajasthan's conference being a part of this larger framework.
He is also set to visit an exhibition that displays cooperative products. During the event, the Union Minister will virtually launch 24 grain storage warehouses and 64 millet retail outlets across the state. A key highlight will be the distribution of appointment letters to 8,000 new government job candidates, alongside interactions with selected candidates and beneficiaries from four districts.
After the event, HM Shah is anticipated to participate in a working lunch where governance and organizational discussions will take place. Additionally, loans totaling around Rs 12 crore will be allocated to 1,400 beneficiaries under the Gopal Credit Card Scheme. He will also distribute 2,346 micro ATMs to milk-producing cooperative societies.
A major highlight will be the launch of the White Revolution 2.0 PDCS online registration platform, designed to enhance the dairy cooperative sector.
HM Shah will also flag off 100 new police vehicles during this significant occasion.
The location in Dadiya is politically significant, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi has previously addressed rallies here on two occasions. His first visit was on September 25, 2023, right before the Model Code of Conduct took effect for the Rajasthan Assembly elections, viewed as a crucial boost for the BJP campaign.
His second visit was on December 17, 2024, marking the one-year anniversary of the BJP government in Rajasthan, during which he laid the foundation stone for the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal (PKC) and Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) from this venue. Notably, this visit was the first time the interstate agreement between Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh for the collaborative project was made public.
Now, Amit Shah's public meeting at the same venue highlights the BJP’s sustained focus on Dadiya as an important strategic location.
This marks HM Shah’s first major public appearance in Jaipur in nearly three months. His last visit saw him heading directly to a religious event in the newly established Kotputli-Behror district upon arrival.
