Mumbai, July 17 (NationPress) Commuters using autorickshaws, taxis, Ola-Uber, and other similar passenger transport options in Mumbai can now lodge their complaints regarding service issues by calling the toll-free number 1800-220-110, as announced by Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik in the state assembly on Thursday.

“Passengers can report issues such as refusal to accept rides, inappropriate behavior from drivers, exceeding passenger limits, failure to display required badges, and overcharging. To address concerns with errant drivers, the dedicated toll-free number 1800-220-110 has been implemented for the entire Mumbai Metropolitan Region,” Sarnaik stated.

Sarnaik further highlighted that a control room operating 24/7 has been established at the Regional Transport Office in Mumbai (West), Andheri.

“This initiative marks the first time that such a service has been made available to citizens through the Transport Department. Complaints received via this control room will be communicated through email to the relevant office. Notices will be issued to vehicle owners found in violation, and appropriate measures will be taken. The vehicles involved in serious infractions will be added to a blacklist. No further transactions related to these vehicles will occur until penalties are imposed,” he added.

The Minister assured that actions will be effectively enforced moving forward. “Residents of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region are encouraged to call this toll-free number for any assistance regarding passenger vehicles like autorickshaws, taxis, Ola-Uber, and public buses,” he noted.

Furthermore, the Transport Minister urged citizens to utilize this toll-free service and collaborate with the Transport Department to enhance the quality of services in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
