According to the itinerary, the Chief Minister will leave Jaipur and is expected to land at Suratgarh Airport at 12:20 p.m., followed by a helicopter ride to the ceremony location. After addressing the public gathering and attending the inauguration, he will return to Suratgarh at 2:30 p.m. and then head to Phalodi.
The project consists of Cement Concrete (CC) lining from RD 0 to 168.230, the reconstruction of two head regulators, one new head regulator, one cross regulator, 19 VRB/DRB structures, and three railway crossing bridges.
This development will enhance the water flow from the Harike Barrage into the Firozpur Feeder, which will significantly increase water availability in the Gang Canal. It is projected to benefit farmers across 3.14 lakh hectares of agricultural land, thereby improving irrigation efficiency and crop yields.
The approved cost for this reconstruction project is estimated at Rs 647.62 crore, with contributions of Rs 379.12 crore from Punjab and Rs 268.50 crore from Rajasthan.
Former Leader of Opposition Rajendra Singh Rathore characterized the approval for the feeder's reconstruction as a landmark, farmer-focused initiative by the Rajasthan government, addressing a long-standing demand.
He added that this project, which coincides with the centenary year of the Gang Canal, showcases the government's commitment to realizing Maharaja Ganga Singh’s vision in a contemporary and sustainable manner.
Surendra Pal Singh TT, Vice President of the State BJP, also praised the initiative, describing it as a modern-day Bhagirath endeavor that will transform the future for countless farmers.
