Jaipur, Nov 21 (NationPress) A tragic incident unfolded on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Rajasthan on Friday when a moving container ignited and exploded after colliding with an LED pole, resulting in the driver being burnt alive inside the vehicle. Police reported that the container lost its control and smashed into the pole with great force, causing an explosion within moments. This event occurred roughly one kilometer prior to the Dungarpur interchange within the jurisdiction of Rahuvas police station in Dausa district.

The vehicle was en route from Uttar Pradesh to Maharashtra when it is believed that the driver dozed off at the wheel, leading to the container swerving violently and crashing into the pole. Officials mentioned that the air-conditioned nature of the container exacerbated the fire's spread post-impact.

Tragically, the driver was ensnared within the cabin and perished instantly before any assistance could arrive.

A fire brigade from Lalsot responded swiftly; however, the intensity of the blaze made it challenging, taking nearly one and a half hours to completely extinguish it. By the time the flames were contained, the container had been reduced to a charred wreck.

Upon receiving alerts, Lalsot MLA Rambilas Meena, Additional SP Dinesh Agarwal, DSP Deepak Kumar, and Rahuvas Police Station Officer Gopal Sharma arrived at the scene to assess the situation.

CCTV footage has emerged, depicting the container approaching from the Delhi side just moments before a massive explosion engulfs the vehicle in flames.

Authorities stated that further investigations into the incident are ongoing.

This accident comes shortly after another tragic event on a different segment of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, where an SUV carrying five individuals plunged into a ditch at high speed, resulting in the death of all passengers.

These incidents have raised renewed alarms regarding reckless driving and the urgent need for stricter enforcement of lane discipline on this high-speed corridor.

Officials emphasized that both accidents underscore persistent issues related to driver fatigue, excessive speeding, and the lengthy, uninterrupted stretches of the expressway that often lead to loss of control.
