Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagde on Saturday, 8 August called for a large-scale public awareness drive against substance abuse during a district-level review meeting in Udaipur, urging officials to convert the de-addiction campaign into a grassroots mass movement and ensure drug-free government offices across the region.

Bagde also directed that individuals who have successfully overcome addiction be formally honoured and kept in regular contact, both to prevent relapse and to serve as community role models. TB Control and Mining-Area Surveys

The Governor directed officials to conduct targeted surveys among workers in mining areas and cement factories — occupational groups with elevated TB exposure risk — to identify potential patients and ensure timely treatment. Governor Bagde sought a detailed status report on school education in the district, placing particular emphasis on strengthening students' foundational learning abilities at the primary level.
