Jaipur, Feb 11 (NationPress) The Rajasthan High Court on Tuesday voiced its frustration regarding the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) for not filing an FIR in the Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment matter.

Justice Sameer Jain challenged RPSC Acting Chairman Kailash Chandra Meena, questioning, "When the identities of your two members emerged, wasn’t it your responsibility to initiate legal action?" The court issued stern comments, probing RPSC’s credibility, asserting, "Does RPSC possess any authority whatsoever?"

Furthermore, it admonished the commission for its lack of response on the matter. Speaking to SOG ADG VK Singh, the court noted, "From your statements, it seems RPSC is an entity where anything can transpire."

In reply, Singh remarked, "Such occurrences were commonplace in the past, but that is no longer the case."

The court countered, "The realities of the present will only be revealed after several years."

During the proceedings, a petitioner requested that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) be included as a party in the case. The High Court responded, "No application is necessary; we have already mandated the inclusion of the ED."

The court also expressed concerns regarding the selection process for RPSC members and made verbal observations on the subject. Both SOG ADG VK Singh and RPSC Chairman Kailash Chandra Meena attended the court session as per the High Court’s orders issued on Monday. Other involved parties include the petitioners, the government, and trainee SIs.

The petitioners contend that the SI recruitment process should be annulled, referencing recommendations from the SOG, Police Headquarters, Advocate General, and Cabinet Sub-Committee, all advocating for its cancellation. In contrast, the trainee sub-inspectors oppose this stance, arguing,

"We had no involvement in the paper leak. Many of us resigned from other government positions for this role. Nullifying the recruitment would be unfair to us," they stated.

The 2021 SI recruitment exam was plagued by a paper leak, with investigations uncovering the existence of dummy candidates and fraudulent selections. The SOG apprehended approximately 50 trainee SIs, 25 of whom have since been granted bail by the High Court.
