Jaipur, Oct 9 (NationPress) In a significant achievement during the ongoing initiative against unlawful firearms, the Jhalrapatan Police in the Jhalawar district of Rajasthan have dismantled an interstate arms smuggling syndicate, apprehending six suspects, including the gang's leader, and seizing six loaded country-made firearms along with eight live cartridges.
The apprehended suspects include Nandlal alias Nanda Gurjar, a known criminal from Sadar Police Station in Jhalawar, and Hafizullah alias Hafiz Khan, another notorious individual from Susner, Madhya Pradesh. Police disclosed that almost two-and-a-half dozen criminal cases are documented against these two across Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar stated that a special operation is underway across the district to combat organized crime. Acting on precise intelligence, a team led by Station Officer Harlal Meena, under the guidance of Additional SP Chiranji Lal Meena and DySP Harshraj Singh Khareda, conducted a series of raids on October 7 and 8, culminating in the arrests.
The gang leader, Lalchand alias Lalu Khatik (35), was apprehended in Bhairupura Basti with a country-made firearm and two live cartridges. Nandlal alias Nanda Gurjar (23) from Chandiyakhedi was seized near Dudh Dairy Tiraha with a country-made pistol and two live cartridges. Hafizullah alias Hafiz Khan (35) of Susner, Agar district (MP) was captured near Purvaj Hotel with a country-made pistol.
Dev Singh Gurjar (58) and Bal Singh Gurjar (40) from Bhalata were arrested at Purana Toll Naka Tiraha, each possessing a 12-bore country-made pistol and one live cartridge. Ramnarayan Dangi (67) from Raipur, Jhalawar, was caught near Madhopur Puliya with a 12-bore country-made pistol and two live cartridges.
During initial questioning, gang leader Lalu Khatik admitted to acquiring the firearms from Manawar, Madhya Pradesh, and distributing them to other gang members throughout the area. Police confirmed that all arrested individuals are repeat offenders with a record of criminal behavior. Separate charges have been filed against them under the Arms Act, and further investigations are anticipated to uncover additional connections within the interstate weapons distribution network.
This successful operation was carried out by a dedicated team including SHO Harlal Meena, Head Constable Sitaram, and others. Superintendent Amit Kumar commended the team's rapid actions, labeling it a major victory in the fight against organized arms trafficking in the area.
