Jaipur, April 8 (NationPress) The Rajasthan government has given its nod for financial support to the individuals affected by the unrest that transpired during the Assembly by-elections in Samravata village, located in Tonk district.

Importantly, the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) had previously provided its findings to the state administration, urging punitive measures against police and administrative personnel within a 30-day timeframe, while also requesting an official reply from the state.

As part of the relief initiatives approved, the government has allocated Rs 1 lakh for each person injured in the violent episode. The list of injured includes Sanjay Meena, Rajanti Meena (spouse of Dayaram), Balram, Phoolchand, Kajod, Dilhag, and Mithalal, among others.

Furthermore, a compensation of Rs 30,000 has been granted to those whose two-wheelers were completely vandalized during the riots. For owners of four-wheelers, the government has sanctioned Rs 1 lakh each.

In addition, the government has approved Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 for damages inflicted on movable and immovable properties respectively.

The NCST committee, led by Nirupam Chamka, submitted its report to the state government on April 2, 2025. The report highlighted serious issues regarding police conduct and demanded a state response within 30 days. The Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) was also accused of pressuring residents to vote.

On November 13, 2024, during the voting for the Deoli-Uniyara Assembly seat, Naresh Meena allegedly confronted SDM Amit Chaudhary, accusing him of influencing voters. This led to Naresh Meena's detention by the police, who were later confronted by his supporters, resulting in heightened tensions.

The police reportedly used lathi-charge, and villagers accused them of retaliating with stone-pelting. Numerous vehicles were set ablaze amidst the turmoil.

The next day, the police apprehended Naresh Meena again and initiated actions against several villagers linked to the violence.

Naresh Meena remains incarcerated as his bail application has been denied.
