Rajasthan to get Savitribai Phule e-libraries in every block, model schools in every district
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on 8 May 2025 announced that the state government will establish Savitribai Phule E-Libraries in every block of Rajasthan and set up Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Model Schools in every district, as part of a broader push to promote education and social awareness. The announcements were made at a programme held at Birla Auditorium, Jaipur, marking the 200th birth anniversary celebrations of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule.

Chief Minister Sharma outlined a series of initiatives honouring the legacy of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and Savitribai Phule. A dedicated panorama and library based on the lives and contributions of the reformist couple will be developed in Hindoli. Additionally, construction work on 16 new buildings for Savitribai Phule Hostels is currently underway across the state.
The Chief Minister noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced nationwide celebrations of Phule Ji's 200th birth anniversary spanning two years — from 11 April 2026 to 11 April 2028 — under a high-level committee chaired by the Prime Minister himself. Sharma urged the youth to draw inspiration from Phule Ji's life and actively participate in spreading awareness about government welfare schemes.
Tribute to Mahatma Jyotiba Phule's Legacy
CM Sharma described Mahatma Jyotiba Phule as a pivotal figure in social reform and nation-building, crediting him with pioneering women's education alongside Savitribai Phule.
