Jaipur, March 21 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Bhajan Lal Sharma, revealed an ambitious plan to plant 10 crore saplings this year as part of Mission Hariyalo Rajasthan. This initiative is inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s campaign, "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam", with an overall goal of planting 50 crore saplings.

During the financial year 2024-25, 7 crore saplings were planted, and this year, in accordance with the 2025-26 budget, another 10 crore will be added, as stated by Sharma at the state level function held at Rajasthan International Center, Jaipur, on the occasion of International Day of Forests, Friday.

Sharma emphasized that nature is the foundation of our existence. "Trees, nature, and mountains are revered in our culture, and Rajasthan has a rich history of environmental conservation," he remarked.

He urged everyone to commit to preserving forests and maintaining biodiversity for a greener and healthier Rajasthan for future generations.

CM Sharma highlighted Rajasthan’s profound connection with nature and environmental protection, calling on citizens to pledge to safeguard forests and biodiversity for the benefit of future generations.

The Chief Minister also acknowledged Prime Minister Modi’s dedication to harmonizing forests, the environment, and climate action. He praised Rajasthan’s efforts in conserving the critically endangered Great Indian Bustard and mentioned the recent launch of a National Great Indian Bustard Conservation Action Plan by the National Wildlife Board.

Reiterating the state's commitment to environmental preservation, Sharma underscored the government's focus on the 3Rs – Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.

Additionally, he introduced the Rajasthan Circular Economy Incentive Scheme 2025 in the 2025-26 budget to enhance waste management, water conservation, and resource efficiency. Notably, the government plans to roll out an agroforestry policy for the first time in Rajasthan.

Other significant initiatives include: One District, One Species – promoting conservation of native flora, establishing Mother Forests in each district, hiring forest guards, and creating a Gharial Rearing Center in Sawai Madhopur’s Palighat for grassland and gharial conservation.

During the event, Chief Minister Sharma launched the ‘Digi-One-Forest Stack’ app, a pioneering initiative in India aimed at improving transparency in forest management through IT solutions.

He also inaugurated eco-tourism facilities in Sitamata Wildlife Sanctuary and introduced golf cart services at Keoladeo National Park (Bharatpur) and Nahargarh Biological Park. Additionally, he unveiled the Forest Soil Health Card and the Climate Change Response and Ecosystem Service Enhancement (CRESEP) logo.

The event also included the foundation laying for the Forest Training and Management Institute.

Chief Minister Sharma distributed kits to Vanmitras and recognized women personnel from the Forest Department for their outstanding efforts.

Sanjay Sharma, Minister of State for Forest, Environment, and Climate Change, commended Prime Minister Modi’s vision in turning tree plantation into a widespread movement.

He highlighted Rajasthan’s innovative monitoring system designed to enhance sapling survival and the ongoing registration of Forest Protection and Management Committees.
