What Actions Will Union Home Minister Amit Shah Take on the Dharmasthala Case After September 8?

Hubballi (Karnataka), Sep 5 (NationPress) In response to a meeting with a group of eight religious leaders, Jain monk Gunadhar Nandi Maharaj stated that Union Home Minister Amit Shah assured the delegation of forthcoming measures against those involved in the alleged Dharmasthala murder cases in Mangaluru, Karnataka, following a meeting scheduled for September 8.

Speaking with IANS on Thursday, Gunadhar Nandi Maharaj remarked, "Union Home Minister Amit Shah informed the delegation, which included seven sadhus and one of our mathadheesh, that he is diligently observing the situation regarding the alleged Dharmasthala murder cases and will convene a special meeting on September 8. He assured us that directives would be issued to initiate actions against the conspirators thereafter."

"The delegation visited Union Home Minister Amit Shah's residence in Delhi for about 45 minutes to discuss the Dharmasthala issue. We brought attention to the propaganda and oppressive tactics targeting Hindu and Jain religions. We also addressed the injustices and conspiracies surrounding the Dharmasthala case," the Jain monk added.

Gunadhar Nandi Maharaj continued, "Union Minister Amit Shah firmly assured us of plans to introduce new legislation aimed at combating conspiracies designed to undermine Indian, Jain, and Hindu cultures in the near future. We sought this initiative, and he confirmed that a new law would be established to counteract attacks and conspiracies against religious issues."

"Currently, social media lacks regulation and accountability, unlike electronic media. Union Minister Amit Shah assured us that a law would be enacted to remove any false content within 24 hours if disseminated," he added.

Additionally, Union Minister Amit Shah discussed strategies to tackle the murders of sages and conspiracies against them nationwide.

"The Dharmasthala matter represents a significant conspiracy. If there is a notable controversy in the country today, it revolves around the Dharmasthala case. They allege without evidence that 300 to 400 murders have occurred," concluded Gunadhar Nandi Maharaj.

A group of religious leaders from Karnataka, under the name of 'Sanatana Sant Niyog', met with Union Home Minister Shah in Delhi to demand that the alleged Dharmasthala murder cases be assigned to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

The delegation was led by Vachanananda Swamiji of Veerashaiva Lingayat Panchamasali Peeth in Harihara, along with seven other significant religious leaders.

They presented a memorandum to Union Minister Shah, indicating that Dharmasthala was being targeted similarly to other notable Hindu pilgrimage sites like Sabarimala and Tirupati.

The seers expressed no objection to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe but emphasized the need to reveal the conspiracy against the temple town of Dharmasthala, advocating for the case to be transferred to the NIA.

In a media interaction, Vachanananda Swamiji stated, "Union Minister Amit Shah is fully aware of the developments regarding the Dharmasthala case. He gathered additional information from us concerning the conspiracy against Dharmasthala and the progress of the SIT investigation. We conveyed that the SIT formed by the state government lacks transparency. Union Minister Shah assured us that he would thoroughly review the matter and take appropriate action."

Karnataka's Home Minister G. Parameshwara stated that the allegations regarding foreign funding in the alleged Dharmasthala mass grave case must be investigated by the Central government.

This comment has gained traction amid strong demands from BJP, JD-S, and Hindu organizations to transfer the case to the NIA.

Commenting on the call for an NIA probe into the Dharmasthala case, Parameshwara remarked, "Initially, they (Opposition) rejected the SIT and are now clamoring for an NIA investigation. The investigation process will remain unchanged."

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has already been collecting information regarding foreign funding and tracking the bank accounts of activists opposing the temple authorities, according to sources.
