Jaipur, Jan 27 (NationPress) The government of Rajasthan has rolled out the Youth Policy-2026, designed to facilitate the comprehensive growth of the state’s youth, preparing them to become responsible citizens and future leaders.

The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) announced on Tuesday the establishment of a three-tier institutional framework to ensure the effective execution of this policy. This framework includes a high-level committee led by the Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, a state-level task force, and a core committee.

The Chief Minister has stressed that youth are the backbone of the state and represent its strongest asset. In light of rapid technological advancements, shifting global circumstances, and emerging social and economic challenges, the new policy has been developed by enhancing and updating the previous youth policy to better meet contemporary requirements.

The Rajasthan Youth Policy-2026 emphasizes empowering young individuals through skill development, job creation, and entrepreneurship, equipping them to take an active role in economic growth and social change. The policy envisions youth not just as job seekers but as job creators and catalysts for positive transformation.

A significant focus of the policy is on education and future-ready skills. It prioritizes enhancing access to quality education, career counseling, and guidance. Skill-based and inclusive educational models will be promoted, particularly emphasizing emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence to prepare youth for the future job landscape.

Moreover, the policy promotes employment and entrepreneurship. To amplify job opportunities, it advocates for skill enhancement and entrepreneurial initiatives among youth. Special consideration is given to those involved in the gig economy and unorganized sectors, fostering innovation and self-sufficiency. Health, well-being, and sports promotion are also key components of the policy.

Recognizing health as a cornerstone of development, the policy prioritizes the physical and mental well-being of youth. Initiatives have been included to encourage a healthy lifestyle, prevent substance abuse, and promote yoga, meditation, and sports participation.

The policy aims to nurture leadership qualities and decision-making capabilities among youth, inspiring their active involvement in democratic processes and governance, contributing to the vision of a developed Rajasthan.

Social Justice and Gender Equality are central to the policy. Adhering to the principle of Antyodaya, it guarantees equal opportunities for all youth, particularly for marginalized groups, while fostering an inclusive environment devoid of social and gender discrimination, as stated by officials.

The policy also seeks to connect youth with Rajasthan's rich artistic, cultural, literary, and traditional heritage. Young artists and cultural talents will receive encouragement through festivals and the promotion of local languages.

Additionally, the Rajasthan Youth Policy includes measures to engage youth in environmental conservation, climate change initiatives, and the advancement of green technologies, ensuring a clean and sustainable environment for future generations.

Launched under the capable leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma this year, the Rajasthan Youth Policy-2026 is anticipated to significantly contribute to creating new job and skill development opportunities while shaping sensitive, responsible, and empowered citizens who actively participate in nation-building.
