New Delhi, Oct 13 (NationPress) Voicing his strong dissatisfaction regarding the NDA seat-sharing arrangements for the Bihar Assembly elections, the chief of the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP), Om Prakash Rajbhar, asserted on Monday that BJP leaders in Bihar are misleading the central leadership. He accused the BJP state unit of plotting to marginalize its allies in the run-up to the elections.
“The Bihar BJP leaders have provided misleading feedback to the central party. The people of Bihar will face repercussions for this,” Rajbhar stated.
He reminisced about earlier talks during the by-elections when the BJP had suggested a continued partnership with his party but failed to act on it.
“During our nomination for two seats in the by-elections, senior BJP officials assured us of a united front in future elections. Now, they seem to have forgotten that promise,” Rajbhar commented, adding, “No worries, we are a political party, we are self-reliant, and we will establish a coalition to contest the elections in Bihar.”
Revealing his election strategy, Rajbhar mentioned, “We plan to contest elections on 153 seats in Bihar. We will likely file nomination papers for 52 candidates today for the first phase.”
Rajbhar also made a pointed remark towards Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) leader Upendra Kushwaha, who had shared a heartfelt message on X after receiving only six seats in the NDA seat-sharing agreement.
“Now, Upendra ji has received what he desired. Whether he becomes an MLA or an MP, the world can go to hell — does he really care now?” Rajbhar quipped in response to Kushwaha’s statement.
Kushwaha had expressed: “I ask for your forgiveness… I realize this decision will break the hearts of thousands—millions—of people… There are constraints and limitations.”
The NDA seat-sharing arrangement recently revealed that 101 seats were allocated to both the BJP and JD(U), 29 to LJP (Ram Vilas), and merely 6 each to Kushwaha’s RLM and Jitan Ram Manjhi’s HAM, leading to disappointment among smaller allies.
Despite his past ties with the BJP in Uttar Pradesh, Rajbhar’s remarks indicate a definitive shift. With intentions to field candidates for over half of the 243 Assembly seats in the state, the SBSP seems ready to take on a more prominent role in the forthcoming elections.
