Lucknow, Oct 19 (NationPress) The Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh, praised Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) on Sunday for its exceptional contributions, particularly for the development of a 4.5 generation fighter jet at the Nashik facility.
During the inauguration of a community hall, Singh, who represents the Lucknow constituency in Parliament, shared that he was in the capital of Uttar Pradesh after attending the fighter jet's unveiling in Nashik just two days prior.
"Our HAL is achieving remarkable milestones," he stated, mentioning the establishment of a new DRDO lab in Lucknow aimed at advancing research.
He also reflected on the power of BrahMos missiles showcased during Operation Sindoor, noting that local production is now taking place in Lucknow.
While dedicating a community centre to the public in his constituency, he affirmed, "I had pledged that residents would no longer need to search for venues to host events, and this community centre is a testament to that commitment."
Singh promised that similar facilities would soon be developed across all Assembly segments in his constituency.
The Defence Minister expressed his ambition to transform Lucknow into a world-class city that harmoniously blends tradition with modernity.
As the Lucknow MP, he reported nearly 500 open gyms and 1,250 solar lights have been installed in the constituency, along with the construction of 14 flyovers from the 25 approved post his election.
He also announced approval for a study regarding the feasibility of a circular Metro rail system in Lucknow.
"We are thoroughly committed to Lucknow's progress," he stated.
Singh also acknowledged the city's advancements in cleanliness and sanitation.
"Recently, Lucknow was recognized as one of the top three cities in India's cleanliness survey, ranking first in Uttar Pradesh and third nationally. Our goal should be to make Lucknow number one in cleanliness," he remarked, commending the city's Mayor.
He paid tribute to the late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who inspired him to dedicate his life to public service in the former's constituency.
Singh expressed his determination to facilitate direct international flights from Lucknow to global destinations, saying, "I am actively working on this issue," while sharing his plans to enhance aviation facilities in the city.
