New Delhi, Nov 23 (ANS) Chief Minister Rekha Gupta spearheaded a vigorous campaign on Sunday, rallying her BJP team to support candidates vying for the bye-elections across 12 wards of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi scheduled for November 30, according to a party spokesperson.
In a bid to maximize outreach just a week before the elections, candidates from all 12 wards, alongside local activists and party officials, initiated a door-to-door campaign starting at 7:30 a.m. to motivate residents to cast their votes for the BJP next Sunday.
Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva indicated that public feedback from the weekend’s pre-election activities suggests the BJP is set to win 11 of the 12 wards, attributing this to the party’s robust organizational framework that effectively identifies and mobilizes its voters.
The day’s campaign was particularly notable for the seven public meetings and rallies hosted by Chief Minister Gupta.
During her address at the 'Panna Pramukh' convention in Ashok Vihar and Dwarka B wards, she urged party members to diligently verify voter lists and ensure that all registered voters participate before noon on election day.
At 1:30 p.m., the Chief Minister engaged with constituents in Greater Kailash Ward, discussing local development and maintenance issues, alongside representatives from the Resident Welfare Association.
Also present were Member of Parliament Bansuri Swaraj, MLA Shikha Roy, and District President Ravindra Chaudhary.
Later in the day, CM Gupta, accompanied by MP Ramveer Singh Bidhuri, visited Sangam Vihar A Ward to lead a public meeting, calling on residents to support the Triple Engine Government for comprehensive regional development.
She further engaged with key community figures during a public gathering in Sainik Vihar.
In the evening, she conducted a meeting on F Block Road in Vinod Nagar Ward, expressing confidence that the residents would respond decisively to the challenges posed by Arvind Kejriwal by rejecting a former councillor accused of corruption.
As the night progressed, Chief Minister Gupta campaigned in Sangam Vihar A and Narayana Wards, appealing to voters to unite with the Triple Engine government to tackle local water and sanitation challenges.
MP Manoj Tiwari addressed three major gatherings in Swarn Park of Mundka Ward, Jai Vihar Chhath Ghat of Dhichkaun Kalan Ward, and Jamrudpur Chaupal in Greater Kailash Ward, drawing large crowds from the Purvanchal community.
Tiwari emphasized the community's significant contribution to Delhi’s economy, assuring that the BJP values their role, which will reflect in the development of Purvanchal areas.
He noted that by recently facilitating the Chhath Puja celebrations along the Yamuna, the BJP has honored a longstanding commitment to the Purvanchal community.
Additionally, Union Minister of State for Corporate Affairs Harsh Malhotra, joined by MLA Abhay Verma and Neelam Pehalwan, addressed the Panna Pramukh conference in Dhichkaun Kalan Ward earlier in the day.
In the afternoon, he participated in a beneficiaries' conference of central government schemes in Narayana Ward, with MLA Umang Bajaj and District President Virendra Babbar.
