Srinagar, July 1 (NationPress) The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, convened a significant meeting on Tuesday to address the pressing issues faced by the families of terror victims, whose loved ones were murdered by Pakistan-backed terrorists, and who continue to seek justice. He instructed officials to reopen cases that have been intentionally neglected and to file FIRs for these incidents.
Officials reported that the L-G led the meeting aimed at discussing the plight of terror victim families and urged them to revive cases that had been intentionally buried.
He assured that perpetrators who have evaded justice for decades will be held accountable.
The Lieutenant Governor instructed deputy commissioners and senior superintendents of police to reopen cases that had been intentionally overlooked and to ensure that FIRs are filed.
Additionally, he emphasized the need for job opportunities to be prioritized for the victims’ family members.
Moreover, DCs and SSPs were tasked with recovering properties and lands that were seized by terrorists or their supporters.
“I’ve instructed the officers to identify individuals within the terror ecosystem who were involved in the murder of innocent Kashmiris and who are currently employed in government departments,” a post shared via X by the L-G’s office stated.
The post also revealed plans to establish a special cell in the L-G secretariat dedicated to addressing the concerns of these families.
“A special cell will be set up in the LG Secretariat to cater to the families' concerns. A similar cell will be established in the Chief Secretary's office. Every possible assistance will be provided to terror victim families, and those who have evaded justice for decades will be held accountable,” stated the L-G.
During a recent event in Anantnag, the L-G met numerous families of terror victims. Survivors recounted their harrowing experiences and the suffering they endured due to a terror ecosystem that has silenced their pain and tragedy since 1990.
The L-G assured these families that their long-awaited justice was imminent, encouraging them to bravely come forward to unveil those responsible for their anguish, as the culprits are currently living as respected members of society due to the justice system's failures.
