Hyderabad, March 12 (NationPress) Telangana's Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy declared on Thursday that the state government is prioritizing educational reforms, asserting that providing quality education would eliminate the need for welfare programs.

He emphasized the government's commitment to transforming the education sector to ensure high-standard learning.

While inaugurating Medicover Hospital in Kokapt, Hyderabad, he revealed plans for a new educational framework from nursery through 12th grade, set to launch in the upcoming academic year.

Additionally, new Telangana public schools will be established, offering nutritious breakfast, lunches, and transportation for students. A decision regarding whether to offer students from government schools free transportation or a 50% discount will be made shortly, he mentioned.

The Chief Minister also announced the establishment of a Skills University aimed at boosting student capabilities.

Furthermore, he disclosed that the state is compiling health data for 60 lakh women who will soon receive digital health cards.

Regarding health initiatives, he stated that the government plans to provide life insurance for 1.30 crore families, and highlighted that Rs 1,800 crore has been allocated this year for Aarogyasri and CMRF to deliver free medical services to the underprivileged.

CM Revanth Reddy also noted the government's focus on cancer prevention, appointing renowned Oncologist Dr. Nori Dattatreya as the state advisor.

He expressed his concern about the rising costs of medical care and the challenges faced by the common man in accessing affordable treatment.

In light of the shortage of healthcare professionals, the Chief Minister urged doctors in private hospitals to dedicate at least one month each year to serve in government hospitals.

He emphasized that the medical profession should prioritize service over mechanics.

Notably, he remarked that 40% of the nation’s pharmaceutical products originate from Hyderabad, and expressed pride that three COVID-19 vaccines were developed in the Hyderabad Genome Valley.
