In his remarks at the launch of Vigyan Vaibhav, a grand science and technology event organized by DRDO and other entities for National Science Day celebrations, the Chief Minister conveyed to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who inaugurated the event, that this corridor could attract substantial investments.
Highlighting that Hyderabad has been a long-standing center of scientific brilliance and technological advancement, he noted that the industrial corridor would foster startups.
Revanth Reddy sought the Defence Minister's cooperation and support, reaffirming the government's commitment to elevate India to the forefront of the defence industry.
The Chief Minister pointed out that Telangana and the city of Hyderabad have played a crucial role in the country's defence for many years.
He stated, "Renowned defence organizations such as BDL, DRDO, Midhani, and HAL manufacture rockets and missiles in Hyderabad for the nation. Defence manufacturing units have been established in and around Hyderabad, playing a vital role in the national defence sector," he said.
He emphasized that the special exhibition aimed to inspire and educate millions of students about patriotism, reminding them that the duty of safeguarding the nation lies with them.
“Each year, over one lakh engineering graduates from Telangana, particularly those in computer science, migrate to America. We are organizing this science exhibition to highlight the importance of the national defence system and instill patriotism among them.”
Revanth Reddy mentioned that the state government is striving to produce efficient and skilled engineers needed for the defence sector, stressing the necessity of increasing engineering graduates in this field.
Numerous organizations, including BDL, HHL, Midhani, and DRDO in Hyderabad, have significantly contributed to the production efforts for the national defence sector, both before and after India's independence.
During the three-day event at Gachibowli Stadium, India's defence capabilities, including the newly tested hypersonic missile, battle tank Arjun, drones, and radars, are being showcased.
For the first time, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is demonstrating its capabilities on a large scale for students and the general public.
The DRDO, along with the Aeronautical Society of India and the Kalam Institute of Youth Excellence, is hosting this event in conjunction with India's National Science Day.
The exhibition features 200 stalls displaying cutting-edge DRDO and defence aerospace products, offering a chance to witness the technological advancements shaping India's future. Short-range ballistic missiles, quick-reaction surface-to-air missiles, and hypersonic glide missiles, along with the latest radar systems, are on display.
