New Delhi, Dec 14 (NationPress) - Union Minister Piyush Goyal remarked on Sunday that India is undergoing a significant yet understated transformation, where aspirations are surging in rural areas and small towns under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In a post on X, Goyal emphasized that rural India is no longer an afterthought in economic growth and is now pivotal in boosting consumption.

Aspirational India is on the rise! Thanks to PM Modi's leadership, the gap between the rich and poor is diminishing, with rural India spearheading consumption through development and empowerment,” stated the Union Minister.

He noted that items previously regarded as urban luxuries—such as bikes, cars, refrigerators, television sets, and mobile phones—are now commonplace in rural households.

According to Goyal, this transformation illustrates the effects of development through empowerment, granting rural populations greater access to opportunities, income, and essential amenities.

“What were once viewed as marks of urban comfort, like bikes, cars, fridges, TV sets, and mobile phones, have turned into essentials in village homes,” he elaborated.

Goyal characterized this evolution as a “silent revolution of prosperity”, showcasing how aspirational India is advancing.

He further noted that development initiatives centered on empowerment have significantly raised living standards and lessened inequality between urban and rural regions.

Previously, the Union Minister had highlighted financial empowerment through government schemes.

In a prior interview with IANS, Goyal mentioned that the “Your Money, Your Right” campaign represents a transformative move towards establishing a financially inclusive and empowered Bharat.

He encouraged citizens to back the initiative and raise awareness so rightful owners can reclaim their unclaimed funds.

Goyal affirmed that under PM Modi's leadership, the government is dedicated to ensuring citizens receive what is justly theirs.

This initiative, which started on October 4, aims to assist individuals in recovering unclaimed bank deposits, insurance payouts, dividends, shares, mutual funds, and pensions.

Prime Minister Modi had previously stated that vast sums of money remain unclaimed in banks, insurance companies, and mutual funds.
