Bengaluru, Nov 20 (NationPress) In response to the shocking Rs 7.11 crore daylight robbery that occurred in Bengaluru, Karnataka's Home Minister G. Parameshwara emphasized that the perpetrators will face justice and will be apprehended.

During a press briefing on Thursday in Bengaluru, Parameshwara asserted, "Without a doubt, the robbers will face consequences; they will be caught. In Bijapur, we previously dealt with two similar incidents. Our police successfully resolved those cases, recovering jewels and cash exceeding Rs 70 crore. We are dedicated to apprehending the suspects in this case as well. They will undoubtedly be captured."

He noted that currently, information is limited, and ongoing verification is taking place. The authorities are also investigating details about the suspected vehicles. Technology is being deployed, and the CCTV footage is under review to identify which vehicles entered the city, he explained.

Concerning the robbery that transpired on Wednesday, police have gathered all pertinent information. It is being investigated whether the suspects are residents of Karnataka or from outside the state, alongside verification of the vehicles involved. Parameshwara indicated that the robbers had utilized a registration number belonging to an unrelated individual.

Upon tracing this registration number, it was discovered to belong to a Swift car owned by a typical family, which is currently under scrutiny.

"We are uncertain about which vehicle they escaped in, as they did not flee with the cash-refill vehicle. They transferred the cash into another vehicle. We lack precise information regarding the vehicle they used. We possess some leads, but nothing definitive yet," Parameshwara remarked.

"We are investigating if the vehicle they utilized crossed state lines. Officers are reviewing the CCTV footage," the minister added.

The robbery incident, which unfolded in broad daylight in Bengaluru on Wednesday, involved a gang that stole Rs 7.11 crore from a vehicle designated for ATM cash refills.

The Karnataka BJP has criticized the state government regarding the daylight heist, expressing concerns about the current law and order situation, asserting that citizens cannot feel secure under the present administration.

The Leader of Opposition, R. Ashoka, commented on Wednesday, "Previously, bank robberies occurred, and now cash intended for ATMs has been stolen — a brazen daylight heist on a bustling road. The robbery of an ATM cash vehicle in Bengaluru this afternoon, during which money meant for ATMs was stolen, clearly indicates that law and order in the state has disintegrated completely."

"While Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar are preoccupied with their power struggle, ministers are left anxious about their positions. With the government itself in turmoil and instability, officials seem perplexed and inactive," he stated.

"If an ATM cash vehicle carrying Rs 7.11 crore can be robbed in the middle of a busy road in broad daylight, even with armed guards present, what is the safety of ordinary citizens? What assurance is there for people’s homes, businesses, assets, and possessions?" Ashoka questioned.

"In summary, one thing is clear: until this ineffective Congress-led government is removed, the people of Karnataka will not find peace," he concluded.
